PTA Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm!

Welcome to the Christa McAuliffe Challengers PTA web site! This site is designed to be a “one-stop-shop” source of information about upcoming activities at McAuliffe Elementary School.

About McAuliffe PTA...

The PTA of Christa McAuliffe Elementary School has an established mission to represent, support and empower members with the skills and leadership to positively impact the lives of all children. Our efforts serve and support approximately 800 students a year in an ethnically and economically diverse section of Oceanside with 100% of the proceeds going to PTA designated efforts.

Our goal is to work with the local restaurants, businesses, and civic organizations to make  fundraisers a huge success, while also providing fun and entertainment to the local community.

Where the money goes...

The PTA supports a great many projects and activities at the school. This year our budget will support activities such as field trips for each of the classes (K-5), student assemblies, reading programs, and student recognition programs. Our main focus this year will be on literacy and technology, which includes new  software programs for the computer lab and classrooms.

PTA Goals...

It is our goal to provide necessary funding to aid in programs that give our teachers the tools to give students positive learning experiences. Some of the many programs we provide funding for are:

  • Math and reading skills -critical to learning and educational development.
  • Performing arts programs - providing children an outlet to grow and expand their creative abilities and social skills.
  • Playground equipment - ensuring strong and healthy children ready to listen and learn.
  • Recognition programs - Rewarding students for their academic performance builds the communities leaders of tomorrow.
  • Field trips - allow students to connect to the communities in ways many of the students would never be able to accomplish without the PTA’s assistance.

 How is success measured?

Success is measured in three steps:

  1. Are the resources supplied being used by students, teachers and staff, and are they developing / improving the students’ performance?
  2. Are acquired materials being utilized by the students, teachers and staff?
  3. Are the purchases made by the PTA for the benefit, growth and development of the children?

How do I get involved?

The PTA is for everyone and we’d love to have you come to our meetings and learn more.  We’re an easy going group with one common objective - ensuring our childrens’ futures!

“The success you achieve tomorrow begins the day before.”
