In an effort to put a face to the McAuliffe PTA, we’d like you to meet the Board and some of our Committee chairs. Members of the PTA Board assume their positions for two years. All positions are assumed on a voluntary basis. PTA Committee Chairs may keep their “job” as long as they are up for the task!
President – Donne’ Farber (2008-2010)
- Donné is the mother of four beautiful children, the fourth of which is now attending McAuliffe. After receiving her teaching credential and Master’s Degree, she taught from 4th through 8th grades for seven years. She decided to stay home to spend more time with her children, and now enjoys volunteering at school, substitute teaching and spending plenty of quality time with her family. Her claim to fame is appearing on the Family Feud with her husband, identical twin brothers, and sister-in-law, and winning $20,000 on the show! You can reach her at donne_farber69@yahoo.com.
Vice President - Mia Hanson (2007-2009)
- Mia is the proud mother of two McAuliffe kids. Makena is starting Kindergarten this year, and Mikayla is in the 4th grade. She moved her family to Oceanside in 2005 after living in Maui for 13 years. She still loves the beach and all water sports, and traveling with her husband, Carl, and the girls .You can reach her at miahanson@msn.com
Treasurer – Kirsten Pursell (2008-2010)
- Kirsten is the proud mom of three kids with two still at McAuliffe. She is anOceanside local and graduate of El Camino HS(‘85). She has degrees from CSU Fullerton and SDSU business school. She enjoys participating in her own sports, helping to coach her children’s, as well as doing water sports with her husband, Zach, and family. She also chairs the Fun Run. Secretary – Lori Batherson (2007-2009)
- Lori is the proud mom of one McAuliffe 4th grader (Mitchell) and one McAuliffe alumnus (Matthew – 7th grade, KMS). She grew up in Northern Virginia but moved to California to hang out with her best friend, Mike. She has degrees in Math and Computer Science, and works full-time for Intuit Corporation as a software development manager on TurboTax. In her spare time (ha ha) she keeps busy singing at her church, going camping, working out, reading, and attending her kids’ sporting events. You can reach her at lori_batherson@intuit.com.
Historian – Helen Stewart (2007-2009)
- Helen has one child at McAuliffe and another at El Camino HS, and this is her first year on the PTA. She was a flight attendant and a regional auditor for Nordstrom National Credit Bank. - Dorothy is the proud mom of two McAuliffe kids and one still at home.
Parliamentarian– Annmarian Pedersen (2007-2009)
- Annmarian is a proud mom of three very creative, busy boys. Charles is in 8th grade; Thomas is a fifth grader; and little Daniel is in 1st grade. Her family loves sports and sailing. Annmarian may be contacted at tpedersen2@cox.net
