Well over 200 kids, friends, and family made 2008’s event another huge success! We made about $7,000 this year, largely in part to the generous support of Oceanside Abbey Carpet & Floor! Thanks to everyone that participated and to our amazing sponsors and supporters!

Oceanside Abbey Carpet & Floor is once again our title sponsor. Abbey’s has gone above and beyond this year by also donating to sponsor the O’side Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. We will receive 80% of their sponsor money to support our PTA! Thanks, Oceanside Abbey Carpet! Do the Turkey Trot and our school will get a portion of your entry. It’s a very fun event!

Art Contest starts in the Fall. Look for details and the chance to design this year’s Fun Run t-shirt.

The Running Center is a big supporter of our event. They are a great resource for all levels of runners. Further information is on their website. www.runningcenters.com.

Background:
     The Fun Run was developed to promote fun, family, and fitness while generating funds to support our school. Kids run by grade levels:  Kinder and 1st graders running a half mile, 2nd and 3rd graders running a mile together, 4th and 5th graders doing their mile, and then the parents, teachers, family, and friends group running a mile.  Everyone receives a finisher’s medal. The inaugural run in February 2005.
